A Message From the Founder

Before I write about what I see for the future of The Write Space in these strange and challenging times, here’s a quick synopsis of the 2020—

We opened our doors in January, closed them in March, and re-opened in July. At that point, writers were not ready to come back to an indoor space even with desks 6 feet apart, curtain dividers and an option to rent just for themselves for the day. And who could blame them? This is a new world with priorities changing daily.

But in order to reinforce the importance of writing and writers in the world, The Write Space has continued to hold its weekly virtual accountability meet-up group and monthly Submission Day.

What’s next for The Write Space?’

After sending out a survey and talking to many writers in various stages of life, career, and COVID-comfort level, we’ve decided to pivot a bit.

During school hours (Mon-Thurs), The Write Space will now be a remote learning center for a few elementary school students, since there is a need for that right now. If this is something that you and your family is interested in, please reach out to me.

If a child’s concentration in The Write Space is any indication of what an adult could get done at here, I’m excited for all of us!

Afternoons and evenings, Monday through Thursday and all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the space will be open for co-writing and co-working. Please check our Membership page for options. And event pages for happenings.

Hope to see you at The Write Space soon,

Marcia
